YOUTH OVER GUNS

Our mission is to build youth power in marginalized communities throughout the nation and encourage legislative advocacy to prevent gun violence, while shifting public discourse towards an evidentiary approach to keeping schools and communities safe. 

YVOTE

YVote is sparking a cross-partisan youth voting movement through which young people connect their passions and beliefs with how they can make a difference, at and beyond the ballot box.

GENERATION CITIZEN

Generation Citizen (GC) works to ensure that every student in the United States receives an effective action civics education, which provides them with the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in our democracy as active citizens.

DOMINICANOS USA

Dominicanos USA (DUSA) is a 501(c) (3) non-partisan organization founded in 2013, that is committed to the civic, social, and economic integration of Dominican-Americans into the fabric of American society.

TREEAGE

TREEage is a youth organization dedicated to implementing climate justice legislation in New York City and State.

NYCLU TEEN ACTIVIST PROJECT

TAP is an exciting leadership development program that engages New York City high school students as organizers and activists on civil rights and civil liberties.

TEENS TAKE CHARGE

Teens Take Charge is a student-led movement for educational equity in New York City. 

GIRLS FOR GENDER EQUITY

Girls for Gender Equity (GGE) is an intergenerational grassroots organization committed to the physical, psychological, social, and economic development of girls and women. 

WE POWER NYC VOTES

NYC Votes is the nonpartisan voter engagement initiative of the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB). NYC Votes engages all city voters through voter registration, education, and engagement.

YOUTH COLLECTIVE

Youth Collective is a Generation Z media and education initiative that aims to amplify youth voice and provide a platform for young people to engage in the important work of building a more ethical world.

PBS STUDENT REPORTING LABS

The PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs (SRL) connects students with a network of public broadcasting mentors and an innovative journalism curriculum to develop digital media, critical thinking, and communication skills while producing original news reports.

MIKVAH CHALLENGE

Mikva Challenge develops youth to be empowered, informed, and active citizens who will promote a just and equitable society.

INTEGRATE NYC

Integrate NYC is a youth-led organization that stands for integration and equity in New York City schools.

SERVICE LEARNING PROJECT

At the Service Learning Project (SLP), we believe children and teens have powerful solutions to the complex problems facing our country. Our mission is to help Brooklyn schools and community organizations create opportunities for youth to become active citizens in their schools and communities.

NYC DOE CIVICS FOR ALL

The DOE believes civics education is an essential part of every student’s core academic experience. We launched the Civics for All initiative to strengthen opportunities for students to develop skills and knowledge related to democracy. 

ZERO HOUR

The mission of Zero Hour is to center the voices of diverse youth in the conversation around climate and environmental justice. Zero Hour is a youth-led movement creating entry points, training, and resources for new young activists and organizers (and adults who support our vision) wanting to take concrete action around climate change. 

COALITION Z

We're a national, youth-led organization creating concrete political change by bridging the gap between Generation Z and our government.

YOUNG GOVERNORS

 Founded in 2011 by Delia Kim Sorto and based in Elmhurst & Corona in Queens, our youth-led grassroots organization integrates extensive and intensive community needs assessments, teamwork, and meaningful public discourse. We aim to cultivate a body of informed and empowered young leaders cognizant of their agency and responsibility as change-makers of the present and the future

NYC DOE STUDENT VOICE

NYC DOE student voice initiatives envision 1) Advancing equity by engaging young people as primary stakeholders in educational transformation; 2) Supporting and creating platforms for student voice and youth-adult partnership, up to the highest levels of decision making; 3) Challenging stereotypes about who is (and who is not) a leader; and 4) Sharing promising practices throughout our system. The NYC DOE Student Voice Manager is role created by students as a recommendation to the Chancellor, to collaborates with students, DOE stakeholders, and community members to uplift the power of student voice.

Journalists of Color

Journals of Color is a Bronx-based, teen-led literary magazine that aims to redefine the narrative surrounding the Bronx through our works of creative writing, art, and photography as means of storytelling.

Hear My Roar NYC

Founded in 2020, HearMyRoarNYC is an activist group fighting to empower youth of all ages and gender identity. A lot is going on in this world, and because we are labeled as “too young”, we don’t get a say in anything. We are the future, and it is important that we educate ourselves, and speak up about the chaos in the world we live in today .
